When and Where is the 2021 Golfing For The Gals Event?


The Golfing for the Gals 2nd Annual event will be held Monday Sept 20, 2021 at Governors Club in Chapel Hill NC Lakes, Foothills or Mountain course. Courses played may be contingent upon registration and weather.




How do we get through the security gate the morning of the event?


The guards will have a list of all registered participants and will give you a preprinted pass for entry to place on your dashboard.




Is there a dress code?


Yes: “Denim of any color is prohibited on the Golf Course. We request that hats be worn with the bill forward or straight. For men, collared shirts must be worn and tucked in. For women, golf appropriate pants, shorts, or skirts, along with a proper golf shirt, are required. Golf shoes with metal spikes are not permitted on the golf course or practice area.”

Is this a non-profit event?


Yes! All proceeds directly benefit the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.




What is the golfing event format?


18-hole Captain’s Choice with a shotgun start at 10:00am Registration begins at 8:30 am. Putting contest 8:45am-9:30am. Shotgun start may change due to COVID restrictions in September.




Who can register?


Mixed, Men's and Women's teams.




Is there a deadline for registration?


Yes, September 5th is the deadline for registration.




Can we sign up as an individual?


Yes, singles can sign up (we will add you to a team or create one).




Is there a limited capacity?


Yes, the field is limited to 160 players (40 teams of 4).




What is the minimum age to participate?


Participants must be at least 15 years of age.




Is breakfast and lunch included?


Yes, breakfast will be offered during registration (grab and go) and luncheon in banquet room after golf concludes.




What if I have a particular diet?


We will offer both vegetarian and meat dishes during the luncheon.




Will there be prizes?


Yes, awards, door prizes, cash prizes for team winners, ceremony and special featured speakers, Dr Paola Gehrig and Dr Victoria Bae-Jump at the conclusion of golf.




What if there’s a tie during the putting contest?


There will be a putt-off. The one who is the closest will win. If both putts are made in putt-off, then the prize money will be split.




Can we pay when we arrive?


We ask that you register and pay through this website before you arrive.




Will we hold the golf event in inclement weather?


Yes, we will have the event rain or shine. We will follow Governors Club guidelines with inclement weather and lightning. If inclement weather arises while on the course, golfers should seek shelter immediately. If Governors Club cancels, we will reschedule the event. All registrations are non-refundable.




Will COVID-19 precautions and guidelines be in place?


Yes, all precautions for a safe golfing and luncheon event will be taken. We will follow all guidelines from the State of NC.




Can I get a refund?


All registrations are non-refundable. In the event Governors Club cancels, we will reschedule the tournment and all registrations will be honored at that time.




Will there be a beverage cart on the course?


Yes, there will be a beverage cart.




Can we play on the morning of the event and not have registered?


No. All participants must be registered for the event.




Can I attend the luncheon portion of the event while not participating in the golf?
